Folder Can I use the same "Tour Code and Tour Name" for multiple packages?

Tour Code and Tour Name uniqueness in UrbanSoft refers to the system rule that enforces a distinct identity for every travel package created in your database. Under UrbanSoft's system architecture, duplicate Tour Codes or duplicate Tour Names are strictly prohibited to ensure data integrity, prevent booking confusion, and maintain accurate inventory and sales tracking.

What Can I Do?

You can structure and manage your travel packages effectively by following these practices:

  • Assign a distinct Tour Code and Tour Name to every new package created in the system.

  • Use standardized naming conventions (e.g., adding departure years, seasonal tags, or tier identifiers) to differentiate similar itineraries.

  • Search and filter individual packages easily in your system catalog using their unique codes.

Example

For example, if you have a popular "5D4N Bali Getaway" and tour code is BALI-5D-2024, package for 2024, you cannot name a new 2025 version with the exact same Tour Code or Tour Name. Instead, you can differentiate them by naming the new one "5D4N Bali Getaway 2025" with a distinct code like BALI-5D-2025.

Important Notes

  • The system will reject saving a package if either the Tour Code or Tour Name already exists in your database.

  • Unique codes and names ensure that quotes, PDF exports, and booking itineraries always link to the correct tour package.

  • If you want to reuse an existing itinerary structure, you can duplicate the package and assign it a new, unique code and name.
